1. Laboratory Safety (NCERT Science, Chapter 2: Is Matter Around Us Pure?)
Always wear safety goggles and a lab coat.
Handle chemicals with care: never taste or touch them directly.
Use test tube holders for heating; point the test tube away from yourself and others.
If a chemical spills, inform your teacher immediately. Acid spills can be neutralized with sodium bicarbonate.
Wash your hands after the experiment.
2. Road Safety
Follow traffic signals: Red = Stop, Yellow = Wait, Green = Go.
Always use zebra crossings to cross the road.
Wear a helmet while cycling or riding a two-wheeler.
Do not use mobile phones while walking or driving.
3. First Aid Basics
Minor cuts: Wash with clean water, apply antiseptic (like turmeric or povidone-iodine), and cover with a bandage.
Burns: Cool the area under running water for 10-15 minutes. Do not apply ice or butter.
Fractures: Do not move the injured person; immobilize the limb and seek medical help.
Choking: Perform the Heimlich maneuver if trained.
4. Disaster Safety
Earthquake: Drop, Cover, and Hold on. Stay away from windows and heavy objects.
Fire: Crawl low under smoke, cover your nose with a wet cloth, and use the nearest exit. Never use lifts.
Flood: Move to higher ground; avoid walking through floodwater.
