Gardening is a wonderful way for students to connect with nature while learning important lessons about sustainability, patience, and teamwork. At Chinmaya Vidyalaya NTPC Unchahar, the Gardening Projects are a cornerstone of our environmental education programs. These projects teach students about the life cycle of plants, the importance of local flora, and sustainable gardening practices.
The school boasts a School Garden where students participate in planting and nurturing vegetables, flowers, and herbs. This hands-on experience allows them to understand the science behind plant growth, as well as the benefits of growing their own food. Students learn about soil health, watering techniques, and the benefits of organic gardening.
In addition to maintaining the garden, the school organizes Gardening Workshops, where students are taught advanced gardening techniques, such as composting and seed saving. These workshops also highlight the significance of biodiversity and native plants in maintaining ecological balance.
By involving students in gardening, Chinmaya Vidyalaya fosters a connection with the earth and encourages sustainable living practices that they can carry into adulthood.
